Oracle, a partnership centred on social dialogue

The Montpellier Business School has added to its list of major partners the global high-tech giant, Oracle. « This partnership completes the panoply of actions put in place by the Montpellier Business School on the theme of social dialogue. », commented Jean-Christophe Arguillère, President of the Montpellier CCI Education and Training Pole.

Even if the primary motivation of Pierre Farouz, HR Director of Oracle, is to participate in the training of young managers in the techniques of dialogue created by Odissée (see the paragraph below), this is not the only reason to explain the company's decision to develop a connection with the Montpellier Business School. « We need you », explained Pierre Farouz. Indeed, the average age of the employees of Oracle France is quite high, the company needs to recruit young staff : « Young professionals bring youth, initiative, energy, social intelligence, to the benefit of the men and women that make up Oracle. », concluded the HR Director.

Oracle had approached the Montpellier Business School, last February, by financing the training seminar on social intelligence for the students of the Grande Ecole Master Programmes.

Odissée

The Odissée association (Organisation of Dialogue and Social Intelligence in Society and Companies) wishes to promote and develop « participative democracy » in a non-political manner, in all sectors, by giving everybody the possibility to express themselves. The association defends the idea that social links are closely tied to long-lasting success, both in society and in organisations.

Created in 1990, it has organised more than 200 citizen forums and theme-based round tables and pulls  together today more than 500 active participants. In order to be closer to the citizens and actors of the territories that make up France, Odissée is setting up a network of territorial antennas extending the work of the national association.
